Esta edición cuenta con el valor añadido de contar con un prólogo a la edición española elaborado por el Dr. Manuel Arteaga Martínez, Presidente de la Sociedad Panamericana de Anatomía, (2013-2019),Profesor Titular de Biología del Desarrollo y Anatomía de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de México y Profesor Titular de Biología del Desarrollo de la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad Panamericana en Ciudad de México. La obra incluye una nueva sección introductoria que contiene ilustraciones de cuerpo entero que muestran la anatomía de superficie, los vasos sanguíneos, los nervios y los vasos linfáticos. Proporcionan por primera vez, una imagen completa del cuerpo humano. Otra novedad a destacar es que, al final de cada sección, se incluyen tablas que destacan las estructuras más habitualmente lesionadas, así como otras de relevancia clínica. Estas tablas proporcionan a los estudiantes resúmenes de consulta rápida, organizados por sistemas corporales, e incluyen referencias a las láminas donde pueden observarse mejor las estructuras estudiadas.
